- The Lead: In the semifinals of the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships, the No. 17 MIT squash team, and top-seed in the Summers Cup, dropped a tough 5-4 match to No. 20 St. Lawrence on Saturday evening at Trinity College.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- St. Lawrence controlled the top half of the ladder with wins in the top three spots and won in both the seventh and eighth positions.
- First-year Bobby Albani (Newton Square, Pa.) got MIT on the board with a 3-0 victory in the fifth ladder and junior Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) followed with a 3-0 win in the fourth slot.
- After dropping the first set in the eighth slot, junior Yos Wagenmans (Seattle, Wash.) won the next two to force a decisive fifth set but fell by a score of 11-6.
- Junior Nikhil Kakarla (Philadelphia, Pa.) made it a 5-3 match with his 3-0 win in the sixth position and sophomore Saechow Yap (Pepper Pike, Ohio) wrapped up the match with a 3-1 win in the ninth position.
