The Lead: The 17th-ranked MIT squash team earned a 5-4 victory over 16th-ranked Franklin & Marshall in the third-place match of the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships on Sunday afternoon. The Engineers have now won their last three matches against the Diplomats.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Engineers got 3-0 wins from first-years
Mitav Nayak (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) and
Hyun Su Price (Philadelphia, Pa.) in the eighth and third positions.
- Sophomore
Tom Hogan (Malvern, Pa.) gave MIT its third victory of the match in the two position, as he held off
Kyle Broadhurst for the 3-1 win and put MIT up 3-1 overall.
- The Dips rallied to tie up the match as they grabbed wins in the sixth and seventh position as well as in the top ladder.
- Junior
Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) put MIT back in the lead as he battled to a five-set win in the fourth position and first-year
Bobby Albani (Newtown Square, Pa.) sealed the win with his 3-0 victory in the fifth-slot.
