HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In the 60-meter prelims, senior
Jeremiah Budiman (Plano, Texas) and first-year
Patrick Haertel (Cumming, Ga.) qualified for the finals as they each won their heats with a time of 6.92 seconds. Budiman captured the finals in a time of 6.88 seconds as Haertel crossed in fifth in 6.95 seconds.

Jackson Bliey (Wilmington, Del.) won the high jump for the fourth time this season with a clearance of six feet, eight inches. Sophomore
Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished second in the weight throw and set a personal-best as he posted a toss of 58 feet, 2.5 inches on his fourth attempt. He also followed that with a huge personal-best in the shot put, winning the event with a toss of 54 feet, 8.75 inches to beat his previous mark by an 11-inch margin.

Nathan Shapiro (Glenview, Ill.) captured the long jump as he jumped 23 feet, 5.25 inches on his fifth attempt to win the event by just over 10 inches. First-year
Sean Huckleberry (San Francisco, Calif.) took the triple jump for the third straight meet and fourth time overall as he posted a jump of 46 feet, 1.25 inches.

- In the mile, first-year
Tim Neumann (Downers Grove, Ill.) finished second in 4:10.58 as he was followed in third by sophomore
Pablo Arroyo (Richardson, Texas) at 4:10.75. First-year
Jake Cobb (West Deptford, N.J.) was the final MIT finisher in the event in 15th place with a time of 4:30.82.

Jack DeBaugh (Severna Park, Md.) was third in the 400 in a time of 49.24 seconds as first-year
Conrad Casebolt (Aurora, Colo.) was right behind in fourth at 51.91 seconds. In the 800, first-year
Jared Steins (Chino Hills, Calif.) won his heat and was third overall in a time of 1:53.93 to go along with sophomore
Simon Opsahl (Redlands, Calif.) in fourth at 1:54.94 and graduate student
Matthew Schofield (Shorewood, Ill.) in 11th at 1:57.24.
