- The Lead: Led by the D3 National Record in the 1,500 meters by graduate student
Ryan Wilson (Redwood City, Calif.), the No. 10 ranked MIT men's track and field team competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the UConn Northeast Challenge. Overall, the Engineers posted 10 top-20 national marks, two nation-leading times and one MIT rookie record. As a team, the Engineers placed 14th of 21 scoring teams at UConn with a total of 19 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT AZUSA PACIFIC:

- On Friday night, Wilson ran the No. 7 time in NCAA Division III history as he crossed in 1:47.93 and broke his own MIT school record by .56 seconds. On Saturday evening in a heat featuring 11 Division I runners, he posted a time of 3:40.06 in the 1,500 meters to break a 27-year old D3 mark by a 1.15-second margin. He is now ranked first in the country in both distances.

Kenneth Wei (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) ran a time of 14.53 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and is currently ranked No. 12 in the nation.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT UCONN:

- Sophomore
Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished a career day with three top-20 nationally-ranked marks in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. He is ranked sixth nationally in both the shot put and discus as he was sixth in the meet in the shot at 54 feet, six inches and fourth in the discus at 167 feet, six inches. He also finished 10th overall and is No. 17 in the country in the hammer with a toss of 183 feet, four inches.

Walter Truitt (Houston, Texas) posted yet another PR in the 110-meter hurdles as he finished third in a time of 14.26 seconds and is fourth in the country. First-year
Enoch Ellis (Garland, Texas) also ran a PR of 14.35 seconds and is ranked seventh nationally.

Jack DeBaugh (Severna Park, Md.) finished ninth in the 400 meters in a time of 47.96 seconds and is ranked No. 16 in the country. That time also breaks the 10-year old rookie school record of 48.20 seconds that was previously held by States Lee.

Sean Huckleberry (San Francisco, Calif.) finished ninth in the triple jump and is No. 19 in the country as he posted a season-best leap of 46 feet, 10 inches in the triple jump.

Nolan Clement (Fullerton, Calif.) and junior
