- The Lead: Over a three-day span during the team's spring break, the No. 20 ranked MIT men's track and field team finished with eight top-10 nationally-ranked performances at the Texas Relays at the University of Texas and the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State University.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT THE TEXAS RELAYS:

- On Thursday night, junior
Henry Hardart (Annapolis, Md.) ran the No. 5 time in the country in the 1,500 meters as he crossed in 3:50.77. First-year
Charlie Glass (Austin, Texas) was next up for MIT as he finished in a time of 3:59.83.

- On Friday in the 110-meter hurdles, sophomore
Walter Truitt (Houston, Texas) was second in his heat with a personal-best time of 14.31. First-year
Enoch Ellis (Garland, Texas) was seventh in his heat with a time of 15.02 seconds.

- In the 4x100 relay on Friday, the team of first-year
Patrick Haertel (Cumming, Ga.), first-year
Nolan Clement (Fullerton, Calif.), Truitt and junior
Garrett Whitmore (Webster City, Iowa) were fourth in their heat as they ran a time of 43.48 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT THE BOBCAT INVITATIONAL:

- On Friday, senior
Kenneth Wei (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) and first-year
Nathan Shapiro (Glenview, Ill.) led the way for MIT in the A and B sections of the long jump. Wei is now ranked third in the country after a jump of 24 feet, 3.75 inches, while Shapiro is ninth at 23 feet, 4.75 inches.

- Sophomore
Ziyad Hassan (Ashburn, Va.) finished 18th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:00.52, while sophomore
Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) was 38th in the discus with a throw of 148 feet, six inches.

- On Saturday, the hurdle trio of Truitt, Ellis and Wei all ran times that rank among the top-15 in the country. Truitt led the way at 14.63 seconds and is ranked seventh, while Ellis is ninth at 14.70 seconds and Wei ranks 14th at 14.80 seconds.

- Engebretson posted a PR of 52 feet, 6.5 inches in the shot put on his first attempt and is ranked fourth nationally. He is also 10th in the hammer throw after posting a toss of 177 feet, six inches.
