Cambridge, Mass. (May 1) -- The No. 6 ranked MIT women's tennis team, coming off a thrilling 5-3 road victory over No. 9 ranked and top-seeded Babson College in the NEWMAC Championship match, has been selected to host the first three rounds of the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship. The matches will take place at the DuPont Tennis Courts on Friday-Sunday, May 5-7.

This marks the second straight season that MIT will serve as the regional host as the Engineers captured the regional title in 2022 with a 5-0 home shutout of No. 13 Williams College. MIT has a 4-1 overall record with the other teams in the regional as the Engineers are 1-0 all-time vs. Colby-Sawyer and 3-1 all-time vs. UMass Boston.

In the first round, Colby-Sawyer (12-7) will take on UMass Boston (12-2), while Stevens (10-9) battles Husson (10-1) in the other first-round matchup. No. 6 MIT (15-3) earned a bye and will face the winner of Colby-Sawyer/UMass Boston in round two, while No. 15 Johns Hopkins (18-4) also received a bye and will play the winner of Stevens/Husson.
