CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Saina Deshpande and
Mason Bultje represented the No. 11 MIT women's tennis team on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Awards list. Deshpande was named the Most Improved Player while Bultje was voted the Assistant Coach of the Year, marking the first time the Engineers have received these awards.
Deshpande has a record of 19-9 this season, including a 13-5 mark while playing the No. 1 singles position, and is a qualifier for the upcoming 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles Championship. This is her second award from the ITA as she was selected as last year's Player to Watch.
Bultje, in his third season as a member of the Engineers' coaching staff, helped MIT compile a 17-4 overall record, capture its 11
th NEWMAC regular season title in 12 years, and advance to the third round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship
