- The Lead: On Friday and Saturday, the No. 2 ranked MIT men's track and field team finished third at the NEICAAA New England Championship, held at the Northeastern University Track in Dedham, Mass. The Engineers were third out of 41 teams from all three NCAA divisions with a total of 85 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED ON FRIDAY:

- The Engineers sat in third place after day one with a total of 31 points as MIT scored in four different events.

- Seniors
Andrew Mah (Newton, Mass.) and
Vedang Lad (Plainsboro, N.J.) both scored in the 5,000 meters as they finished second and sixth, respectively. Mah finished with a personal-best time of 14:06.48 as he trimmed over four seconds off his previous time. Lad scored in sixth as he crossed at 14:32.25.

Lowell Hensgen (Raleigh, N.C.) placed third in the 10,000 meters in 30:45.94, with junior
Raymond Brookman (Santa Cruz, Calif.) finished fifth in a personal-best time of 31:31.08.

Kenneth Wei (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) picked up eight points in the long jump as he finished as the runner-up with a season-best leap of 24 feet, 4.25 inches. Graduate student
Max Hardy (Houston, Texas) picked up two points in the pole vault as he finished in seventh place with a season-best clearance of 15 feet, one inch.

Enoch Ellis (Garland, Texas) both advanced to Saturday's final of the 110-meter hurdles as they ran times of 14.27 and 14.58 seconds to finish second and sixth in the prelims.

Mozi Guobadia (Katy, Texas) advanced to the final of the 100 as he was fifth in the prelims in a PR of 10.78 seconds. First-year
Jack DeBaugh (Severna Park, Md.) moved into the finals of the 400 as well as he was eighth in the prelims in 47.96 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED ON SATURDAY:

- Graduate student
Ryan Wilson (Redwood City, Calif.) picked up the win in the 800 as he ran a time of 1:49.69. First-year
Charlie Glass (Austin, Texas) was close behind him in third as he crossed in 1:51.36. Sophomore
Pablo Arroyo (Richardson, Texas) was also victorious for the Engineers as he earned the victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a personal-best time of 9:08.50.

- In the 100-meter finals, Guobadia crossed in sixth in 10.82 seconds, while DeBaugh finished fourth in the 400-meter final in 47.77 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles final, Wei picked up a third-place finish in 14.34, with Ellis right behind him in fourth in 14.40 seconds.

Simon Opsahl (Redlands, Calif.) and
Reece Shuttleworth (Arlington, Va.) both scored with personal bests in the 1,500 meters. Opsahl crossed in sixth at 3:51.55 and was followed in eighth by Shuttleworth at 3:52.77. First-year
Sean Huckleberry (San Francisco, Calif.) finished eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 10.25 inches.

Will Liu (San Marino, Calif.) and first-year
Zac Nwogwugwu (London, United Kingdom) finished in fifth in 41.50 seconds.
