- The Lead: Behind two individual national championships on day three by graduate student
Ryan Wilson (Redwood City, Calif.) and one from first-year
Enoch Ellis (Garland, Texas), the No. 2 ranked MIT men's track and field team captured its first-ever NCAA National Championship with a total of 60.5 points. The Engineers finished the three-day championship with a total of nine USTFCCCA All-American honors as they won the title by 11.5 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Wilson captured his first 1,500-meter title and his fourth individual championship overall after winning in a facility-record time of 3:45.18. He then followed that with a time of 1:48.17 in the 800 meters, successfully defending his 800 outdoor title with a late surge for his fifth career individual crown. On the season, he finishes with four All-American awards after also being recognized indoors in both the mile and 3,000 meters.

- In the 110-meter hurdles, Ellis earned his first national individual championship as he captured the event in a PR and facility record of 14.22 seconds. Senior
Kenneth Wei (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) was close behind at 14.25 seconds to finish third as the duo combined for 16 total points. This is the first All-American accolade for Ellis, while Wei ends the 2022-23 with four All-American honors after being recognized indoors in the 60-meter hurdles and long jump.

- In the high jump, first-year
Jackson Bliey (Wilmington, Del.) finished in a tie for fourth place as he cleared six feet, 7.5 inches and was perfect through the first three rounds. He also captured All-American accolades indoors in the 2022-23 season.

- Sophomore
Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) concluded a busy three-day championship with the hammer throw as he qualified for finals before finishing in ninth overall at 187 feet, five inches.

- In the 5,000 meters, senior
Andrew Mah (Newton, Mass.) crossed in a time of 14:35.60 to finish in 13th place out of 21 runners on Saturday.
