No. 23 Women's Soccer Takes Down Clark, 3-0, in NEWMAC Play

THE BASICS:

- Score: MIT - 3, Clark - 0

- Records: No. 23 MIT (7-1-1, 3-0-0 NEWMAC), Clark (6-2-1, 1-2 NEWMAC)

- Location: Worcester, Mass. (Granger Athletic Complex)

- The Lead: Junior Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif.) scored twice to help propel the No. 23 MIT women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Clark on the road on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Engineers improved to 3-0 in NEWMAC play this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Barnouw got the Engineers on the board early in the match when her shot at 6:08 found the back of the net.

- Senior Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) set up Barnouw for her second goal of the game at 22:57.

- The Cougars looked to cut the MIT advantage to one but Cassandra Trevino had her shot blocked at the 34:19 mark.

- MIT continued to keep the pressure on Clark and first year Macy Lehrer (Danville, Calif.) got a pass from classmate Arianna Doss (Houston, Texas) that she deposited into the back of the cage at 70:24 to make it 3-0 MIT.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- With her two goals, Barnouw has three on the year and is second on the team with seven points. It is the first multi-goal game of her career.

- Rowlett's assist was her fourth of the season as she increased her team-leading point total to 12. She is tied for the most points in the conference.

- Lehrer recorded her first collegiate goal and the assist was the first for Doss.

- Senior Morgan Everett (Danville, Pa.) recorded her third shutout win and improved to 5-1-1. She turned away all three shots from Clark.

- The Engineers held a 26-5 advantage in shots and a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.
