Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Dobie Scores 37 For MIT in 91-67 Loss Against Clark

THE BASICS:

- Score: Clark - 91, MIT - 67

- Records: MIT (2-14, 1-6 NEWMAC), Clark (13-3, 7-0 NEWMAC)

- Location: Cambridge, Mass. (Rockwell Cage)

- The Lead: First-year Isaac Dobie (Kitty Hawk, N.C.) poured in 37 points, but it was not enough as the MIT men's basketball team suffered a 91-67 setback to Clark University on Saturday afternoon in a NEWMAC contest at Rockwell Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Kekoa McArdle gave Clark an 11-6 advantage, but a jumper from first-year Will Bland (Virginia Beach, Va.) followed by a three from classmate Michael Zhang (Jacksonville, Fla.) made it a one-point contest at the 13:47 mark. From there, the half remained close until a 12-0 run from Clark put the Cougars up by 14. They eventually built a 43-22 halftime advantage.

- A four-point play from Dobie early in the second cut the Clark lead to 45-26, but the Cougars responded with a three from Reid Neumann to go up 48-26. Dobie scored five-straight points to make it a 65-48 game with 9:45 remaining, and sophomore Tim Minicozzi (Belmont, Mass.) cut the Cougars lead to 14 with a shot from behind the arch at 7:18.

- A 14-0 by Clark all but sealed the game as the visitors went on to win by a final score of 91-67.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Dobie is the 17th student-athlete in program history to score 37 points or more in a game. He fell one rebound shy of a double and shot 5-8 from deep and 11-16 from the floor.

- Junior Spencer Lin (Menlo Park, Calif.) finished with nine rebounds and four points.

- Four Cougars scored in double-figures led by McArdle with 23. Isaiah Taylor, Bruce Saintilus, and Reid Meumann each added 15. Bruce recorded a double-double as he grabbed 10 rebounds.
