Squash Earns 9-0 Sweep of Wesleyan

THE BASICS

- The Lead: The No. 16 MIT squash team ended its three-match losing streak with a decisive 9-0 sweep of the 29th-ranked Wesleyan Cardinals on Tuesday night on the Zesiger Center Squash Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
-  MIT dropped only one set during the match.
 
- First-year Andrew Ding (Cambridge, Mass.) won in the ninth position by a score of 11-7, 11-4, 11-7. Classmate John Gunton (Lawrenceville, N.J.) earned an 11-6, 11-3, 11-7 victory in the fourth position.
 
- At the top spot, first-year Mero Elmarassy (Santa Clara, Calif.) held off Nimai Kini, 11-4, 11-9, 12-10.
 
- Senior Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) won his match in the third position, 11-5, 11-7,11-8, and sophomore Mitav Nayak (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) earned an 11-9, 11-3, 11-5 win in the seventh slot.
