HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set 1: The teams went back-and-forth early before a 4-0 run that featured two kills from sophomore Ben Volokh (Studio City, Calif.) gave the Engineers a 9-4 advantage. The Mustangs hung around, and a kill from Aidan O'Brien cut the MIT lead to 14-12, but MIT did not let the Mustangs get even as back-to-back kills from graduate student Nick Gustafson (San Diego, Calif.) gave the Engineers a 25-19 win.

With the score tied at 20, MIT went on a 5-1 run with three kills from Gustafson and an ace from senior Phillip Johnson (Chandler, Ariz.) that gave the Engineers the 25-21 win.

- Set 3: The set featured five ties in the early portion before MIT went on a 4-1 run to take a 13-10 lead. From that point, Stevenson was unable to pull even as another 4-1 run put MIT up 21-16 and a kill from Gustafson sealed the 25-20 win.
