LEXINGTON, Ky. – The MIT men's volleyball team collected its 10th consecutive and 17th overall American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award as announced by the organization. In addition, the Engineers earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll for the seventh year in a row by virtue of ranking in the top 20 percent of Division III team GPAs. 
 
Initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, the AVCA Team Academic Award honors collegiate and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 mark on a 5.0 scale. 
 
MIT placed 11 student-athletes on the UVC Academic All-Conference Team and earned the conference's team academic award as well. 
 
On the court, MIT won the program's first UVC Conference Tournament Championship and advanced to the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in team history, earning the program's first two NCAA Tournament wins.
