The Lead: The MIT women's basketball team extended its winning streak to five after it defeated Mount Holyoke College, 94-23, in NEWMAC action on Saturday. With a 14-point performance, graduate student
Christina Antonakakis (Holmdel, N.J.) broke the program career points record as her total increased to 1,426 and eclipsed the previous mark of 1,425 that was set by
Vicky Best '99. For the Lyons,
Libby Harris led the way with 12 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Harris opened the scoring with a three-pointer, but MIT replied with a trey from junior
Angie Choi (Cypress, Calif.) which ignited a string of 25 unanswered points in the quarter.

- In the second stanza, the Engineers outscored Mount Holyoke, 18-8, to build a 43-11 advantage at halftime. Junior
Elise Harvey (Wayland, Mass.) notched four points for MIT while junior
Kamsi Nwogu (Algonquin, Ill.) grabbed four rebounds and Choi recorded two steals. Both
Kendall Maurer and
Nicole Lutalo knocked down three-pointers for the Lyons while
Emma Goff snagged three rebounds.

- The Engineers' lead grew to 71-19 at the end of the third quarter. Choi produced nine points as Nwogu tallied five rebounds, one block, and one steal. Coming off the bench, junior
Olivia Joseph (Newtown Square, Pa.) collected five rebounds for the hosts. Harris powered Mount Holyoke with a pair of shots from behind the arc.

- MIT continued to control the action as it had a 23-4 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter. Sophomore
Alice Hall (Ambler, Pa.) generated six points and four rebounds while first year
Rachael Zacks (Glencoe, Ill.) tallied six points, three rebounds, two steals, and a block. First year
Mariam Abdelbarr (Durham, N.C.) contributed two steals to the Engineers' cause. Goff knocked down a three-pointer as Maurer corralled two rebounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Choi led all players with 17 points to go along with five assists and four steals while Nwogu finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds, a career-high six steals, and three assists. Hall notched 10 points and six rebounds as Joseph posted seven rebounds and three steals.

- Goff collected a team-high six rebounds, followed by five from
Jamieson Dean and Maurer.
