No. 19 Squash Defeated by No. 9 Williams, 8-1

THE BASICS

- The Lead: The No. 19 MIT squash team took on their 10-straight nationally ranked team as the Engineers faced No. 9 Williams in a Sunday afternoon match that the Ephs won, 8-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- Senior Nikhil Kakarla (Philadelphia, Pa.) got MIT on the board with a hard-fought five set win in the fifth position. Kakarla dropped the first and fourth sets but sealed the win with a decisive 11-4 win in the fifth set.
 
- First years Mero Elmarassy (Santa Clara, Calif.) and John Gunton (Lawrenceville, N.J.) each notched a set win in their matches.
 
- Senior Yos Wagenmans (Seattle, Wash.) and sophomore Mitav Nayak (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) also took one set in their matches.

- The Engineers wrap up their regular season with their Senior Day match on Friday, February 2nd at 6pm against No. 25 Bates at the Zesiger Squash Courts.
