Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- First year
Will Bland (Virginia Beach, Va.) set up classmate

Â
- Gogolin gave MIT a 22-20 lead at 9:31, and senior
Spencer Lin (Menlo Park, Calif.) made it a four-point Engineer lead at 8:27. Bland scored four straight points to put the hosts up 28-22 with 6:48 left in the half. The Beavers chipped away at the lead, and a layup from
Jared Flaks tied the game at 33. The Beavers made five of six free throws to end the half with a 38-35 lead.
Â
- Babson built a nine-point lead, but Lin got the Engineers to within three with his shot from deep at 13:11 to make the score 50-47. The Beavers held on to the lead until a three from sophomore
Tim Minicozzi (Belmont, Mass.) put MIT up by one, 58-57. Babson quickly regained the lead, and after two free throws from first year
Isaac Dobie (Kitty Hawk, N.C.) got MIT to two points, Babson went on a 17-3 to seal the 84-68 win.
