- The Lead: Led by a double-double from first year
Isaac Dobie (Kitty Hawk, N.C.), the MIT men's basketball team led wire-to-wire in a 97-81 win over Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon. The 97 points are the most scored by the Engineers this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior
Spencer Lin (Menlo Park, Calif.) hit a jumper to open the game, and a Dobie three quickly gave MIT a 5-0 lead. Dobie hit two free throws to put MIT up 10 just over five minutes into the first half.
Declan Rooney cut the MIT lead to four at 20-16 with a jumper at 12:33, but a jumper from Lin and two free throws from first year
Will Bland (Virginia Beach, Va.) quickly put MIT up nine.

- Lin gave the host a 12-point advantage with his three at 6:48 to make the score 34-22. He later made it a 16-point lead with his twelfth point of the half at 2:09 which made it 44-28, and MIT headed into the break with a 48-35 advantage.

- The Bears scored the first seven points of the second half to cut the MIT lead to 48-42. MIT quickly got the lead back to 10 on a Dobie layup, but Coast Guard continued to chip away as a jumper from
Bryce VanderWiere made the score 59-55 with 12:16 left.

- With 8:39 remaining,
Elijah Parent hit both his free throws to make the score 75-70, but MIT went on a 9-0 run that featured five points from first year
Merlin Gogolin (New York, New York). The Bears got the Engineer lead back under double-digits with a jumper from
Trevor Parks, however, an 11-0 MIT run, finished by two free throws from Bland, gave the Engineers a 20-point advantage as they went on to earn the 97-81 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Dobie finished with 34 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for his first double-double as an Engineer.

- Lin finished with 24 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while Gogolin added 17 points. Bland finished the day with seven points. First year
Samuel Chen contributed eight points and six rebounds.

- Coast Guard was led by Rooney with 22 points and six rebounds.
