- The Lead: No. 7 MIT men's swimming and diving team opened the 2024 portion of its schedule with a 140-97 win on the road against the United States Coast Guard Academy. The Engineers won seven events on the day.

David Benko (Budapest, Hungary) swept the boards as he won the one-meter board with 291.60 points and claimed the top spot on the three-meter with a score of 238.87.

- In the 400-yard medley relay, senior
Arnold Su (Irvine, Calif.) capped the first-place finish for MIT as the team of sophomore
Zack West (Kailua, Hawaii), junior
Roderick Huang (Cupertino, Calif.), and senior
Jaden Luo (Austin, Texas) combined for a time of 3:28.73. Senior
Tobe Obochi (Highland Park, Ill.) anchored the Engineers second-place team of sophomore
Theo Chen (Plano, Texas), junior
Jacob McCarran (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and sophomore
Thomas Wu (Cedar Park, Texas) with a time of 3:30.93.

- Obochi won the 50-free with a time of 21.08 while sophomore
Alvin Tsai (Mineola, N.Y.) came in third with a time of 21.88.

- First-year
Jason Wang (Brentwood, Texas) set a new pool record with his 200-Yard IM victory. Wang finished the event in 1:52.48, almost two seconds ahead of Huang who clocked in at 1:54.64. First-year
Aitor Arrese-Igor (Delray Beach, Fla.) finished in third with a time of 2:00.80.

- West won the 200-back with a time of 1:55.42 as he finished ahead of teammate senior
Brian Li (Austin, Texas) (1:57.88) and Aresse-Igor (1:58.47).
