CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Racing in the Men's Lightweight Eights event, the MIT men's lightweight crew team finished eighth on Sunday afternoon at the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River.  

THE BASICS: 

• Men's Lightweight Eights: 8th of 13 

RACE BY RACE: 

• The Engineers entered Sunday's event with Bow #8 and finished in the eight place spot with a time of 14:38.023. MIT was strong through the opening portion of the course on a picture perfect day on the Charles, tracking as the sixth fastest time at the Riverside Boathouse. MIT remained consistent through the remainder of the course to finish with a competitive time that was within 10 seconds of seventh place Yale and nearly 20 seconds ahead of ninth place Princeton.
• Harvard won the event in 14:09.094.
