Men's Squash

No. 14 Western Earns 6-3 Win Over No. 16 Squash

Cambridge, Mass. – No. 14 Western earned a 6-3 win over the No. 16 MIT squash team on Sunday morning at the Zesiger Center Squash Courts.
 
THE BASICS:
  • Scores: Western 6, MIT 3
  • Records: MIT (3-4), Western (1-2) 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Western grabbed wins in the top two positions.
  • MIT got a 3-1 win in the third position from sophomore John Gunton (Lawrenceville, N.J.), but Western grabbed victories in positions four, five, and six.
  • Graduate student Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) earned a tough five set win in the seventh ladder, winning the final two sets 12-10, 11-8.
  • In the ninth position, first year Eddie Xue (Westport, Conn.) earned an 11-1, 12-10, 11-3 win.
UP NEXT:
  • MIT will head to Lewiston, ME to take on Bates on Saturday, November 23 at 2:00 PM.
