- The Engineers took a 16-14 lead on a trey by sophomore Rachael Zacks (Glencoe, Ill.) 1:31 into the second stanza and stayed ahead until a jumper and two free throws put the Saints up, 26-24, with 51 seconds to go. Choi quickly replied with a three pointer heading into halftime.
- Emmanuel kicked off the third quarter with 10 unanswered points in a span of 2:44. The Engineers gradually narrowed the gap to 37-34 on a free throw by sophomore April Chan (Fremont, Calif.) with 2:44 on the clock. However, the Saints knocked down a three pointer during their next possession. A layup by Nwogu brought MIT within 40-36 with 36 seconds remaining, but Emmanuel replied with a layup of its own as time wound down.
- The Saints' lead grew to 52-42 at the 6:30 mark of the fourth quarter. Sparked by a free throw by Harvey, the Engineers put together a 9-1 run that brought it within two (53-51) with 4:19 on the clock. An exchange of baskets followed that moved the score to 57-53 with 2:48 to go. Nwogu drained two free throws and sank a layup with 43 seconds remaining to tie the game. MIT forced a backcourt violation with 29 seconds left and during its final possession of regulation Nwogu drove to the basket, but her layup was off the mark.
