PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The MIT women's basketball team fell to Bates College, 76-50, in the consolation game of the Anchorwomen Tip Off Tournament hosted by Rhode Island College. Senior
Elise Harvey (Wayland, Mass.) paced the Engineers with 12 points and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In a back-and-forth first quarter, a three pointer by senior Angie Choi (Cypress, Calif.) brought MIT within 24-23 with 29 seconds left. However, Bates knocked down a jumper as time expired.
- The Engineers trimmed the deficit to 26-25 courtesy of a jumper by first-year Libi Matityahoo (Yehud Monosson, Israel) 11 seconds into the second stanza. However, the Bobcats gradually pulled away and entered halftime with a 50-31 advantage.
- Bates continued to control the action in the third quarter as it outscored MIT, 14-3.
- MIT had the upper hand in the final frame as it had a 16-12 scoring edge, resulting in the 70-56 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Choi totaled 11 points while senior Kamsi Nwogu (Algonquin, Ill.) produced eight points and seven rebounds. Junior Alice Hall (Ambler, Pa.) generated six points, four rebounds, and three steals.
