Tolstova Named AVCA Freshman of the Year, Rozario and May Earn All-America First-Team Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT first-year Julia Tolstova (Redlands, Calif.) was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Freshman of the Year, becoming the first student-athlete in the history of the women's volleyball program to receive this award. In addition, graduate student Consecrata Rozario (Cary, N.C.) and sophomore Kayleigh May (Camarillo, Calif.) represented the Engineers on the All-America First Team while Tolstova and seniors Ella Gragg (Morganton, N.C.) and Ottavia Personeni (Bethesda, Md.) collected All-America Honorable Mention accolades.

  • Led the team in kills (293) and kills per set (2.74)
