No. 17 Squash Takes Down Brown, 8-1

PROVIDENCE, RI – The No. 17 MIT squash team returned from the holiday break with an 8-1 road victory over Brown on Tuesday night. The Engineers dropped just two sets during the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sophomore Mero Elmarassy (Santa Clara, Calif.) dropped a five-set match in the top ladder to Harrison Yang, 12-10, 11-8, 5-11, 8-11, 13-11.
Juniors Hyun Su Price (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Bobby Albani (Newtown Square, Pa.) took 3-0 wins in the second and third ladders while junior Mitav Nayak (Bryn Mawr, Pa.), graduate student Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.), and first year Zachary Starr (Dover, N.H.) handled their opponents in ladders three-five.
First year Eddie Xue (Westport, Conn.), junior Lars Barkman (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and sophomore JJ Detweiler (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands) controlled the lower part of the ladder, grabbing 3-0 victories to give MIT the 8-1 win.

The Engineers are right back on the courts as MIT hosts Amherst tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4 at 6:30 PM on the Zesiger Center Courts.
