Men's Swim and Dive Earns Senior Day Win Over Amherst, 202.5-74.5

THE BASICS:
 
- Score: No. 4 MIT - 202.5, Amherst - 74.5
 
- Location: Cambridge, Mass. (Zesiger Center Pool)
 
- The Lead: On Senior Day the No. 4 MIT men's swimming and diving team defeated Amherst by a 202.5-74.5 score. The Engineers honored their senior class of: Brian Li (Austin, Texas), Jaden Luo (Austin, Texas), Tobe Obochi (Highland Park, Ill.), Arnold Su (Irvine, Calif.), and Aaron Zhu (Chelmsford, Mass.).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

- MIT opened the meet with Li, junior Roderick Huang (Cupertino, Calif.), sophomore Thomas Wu (Cedar Park, Texas), and sophomore Eugene Jiang (Baton Rouge, La.) with the win in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:33.82. Luo, junior Jacob McCarran (Pittsburgh, Pa.), first year Bryce Roberts (Mill Valley, Calif.), and sophomore Evan Liu (Woodbury, N.Y.) took second with a time of 1:34.12.
 
- First year Jason Wang (Brentwood, Tenn.) won the 200-free in 1:43.54 with Su in second with a mark of 1:44.69.
 
- Luo took the crown in the 100-back as he touched the wall in 52.08. Zhu finished in second (52.86), and sophomore Theo Chen (Plano, Texas) took third in 54.21.
 
- Huang earned narrow wins in both the 100 and 200-breast events. He won the 100 by .02 of a second with a time of 58.58 and took the 200 by .09 seconds with a time of 2:05.07.
 
- Li touched the wall in 1:55.58 to win the 200-fly and first year Nathan Zhu (Lexington, Ky.) finished in 1:56.17 for second.
 
- Obochi won both the 50 and 100-free events. He finished the 50 in 20.31 (NCAA B Cut) and the 100 in 44.77, which is also an NCAA B Cut time.
 
- Sophomore Zack West (Kailua, Hawaii) won the 200-back in 1:53.73, just .01 seconds ahead of Zhu in second.
 
- Roberts finished in first in the 100-fly (52.41) and junior Jalen Evans (Danville, Calif.) finished second in 52.56.
 
- Wang recorded his second win of the day in the 200IM with a time of 1:52.27. Huang took second in 1:52.87. Su finished tied for third with a time of 1:56.26.
 
- Obochi, Luo, Jiang, and A. Zhu wrapped up the meet with an almost five-second win in the 400-free relay with a time of 3:05.39.
