The Lead:Â The MIT baseball team dropped a pair of NEWMAC games to No. 8 Salve Regina on the road on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME ONE
- The Seahawks scored early on in the second inning and did not let up. Salve Regina scored three in the bottom of the fifth inning and scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh.

-Â MIT had two chances in the top of the fifth and sixth inning to put their first run on the board but were unable to convert.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- SeniorÂ
Teddy Schoenfeld (Boulder, Colo.) stole two bases for the Engineers. On the mound, junior
Brian Rapanan (Gurnee, Ill.) fell to 2-1 on the year as he threw 4.1 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME TWO
- The Engineers came out on fire in the top of the second inning, scoring six unanswered runs to give themselves an early 6-0 lead. SeniorÂ
Tyler Godfrey (Rowley, Mass.) singled up the middle to draw in the game's first run. SophomoreÂ
Eitan Moore (Jerusalem, Israel) singled up the middle and brought home two run. A sac fly and two singles from graduate studentÂ
Jake Sonandres (Torrance, Calif.) and juniorÂ
Malachi Soqui (Castaic, Calif.) boosted the Engineer lead to 6-0. Salve Regina scored their first run in the bottom of the inning on a sac fly, cutting it 6-1.

In the bottom of the third, the Seahawks took over and score six unanswered runs, giving them a 7-6 lead.

- A two-run homer by Salve Regina sparked what would be a seven-run inning, extending their lead to 14-6.
Â
- A right-field homer by Salve made it a 15-6 game and a bases loaded walk sealed the 16-6 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Chase Rubin (Arlington, Va.) fell to 0-2 on the year.

Reed Tubbs (Pflugerville, Texas.) led the way for MIT, going 2-for-4 at the plate
