HOW IT HAPPENED

- MIT got on the board early with an RBI groundout from senior Teddy Schoenfeld (Boulder, Colo.) that plated junior Reed Tubbs (Pflugerville, Texas) in the third.

- Sophomore Owen Malone (Portsmouth, R.I.) singled home graduate student Jake Sonandres (Torrance, Calif.) in the ninth to cut the Chapman lead to two, and senior Tyler Godfrey (Rowley, Mass.) singled home the tying run with his two-run single to right. Graduate student Kyle Sonandres (Torrance, Calif.) then singled home Schoenfeld to put MIT back in the lead 5-4.

- With a runner on first, senior Phillip Hood (Grapevine, Texas) got Dudas swinging, and Jake Sonandres threw out Golbranson at second to end the game and give the Engineers the come-from-behind win.
