HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Sophomore Zach Bleil (New Canaan, Conn.) started the game off with a goal 58 seconds into the start. Wheaton responded two minutes later, and MIT got two more goals from juniors Nick Stiles (New Canaan, Conn.) and Ethan Robertson (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) to lead 3-1. After a Lyons goal, MIT responded with goals frim senior Heath Nilsen (Carlsbad, Calif.) and sophomore Bryce Metalios (Old Greenwich, Conn.). Wheaton scored once more before the end of the period.

- Metalios, Bleil, and sophomore Garrett Campagna (Lancaster, Pa.) scored three straight to start out the second period, but the Lyons responded with two more. Campagna netted another to stretch the MIT lead to 9-5. Wheaton would cut it down to two at the half.

- Campagna added to the Engineer lead 56 seconds into the half and, first-year Ashton Axe (Portola Valley, Calif.) followed up minutes later to give the Engineers a four-point cushion after three.

- Wheaton would not go away as they scored four unanswered goals to tie the frame at 11. Bleil put the Engineers ahead at the 2:38 mark before a game-tying goal from the Lyons at the 1:05 mark tied it up  to force overtime.

- Palleiko sealed the deal and won the game for the Engineers with his goal off the faceoff to give MIT its third straight NEWMAC win.
