No. 16 Women’s Lacrosse Defeats No. 25 Bowdoin College, 12-6

THE BASICS:

- Location: Cambridge, Mass. (Jack Berry Field)

- The Lead: The MIT women's lacrosse team battled hard to secure a 12-6 victory in a non-conference women's lacrosse game against Bowdoin College on Friday Night. Sophomore Ashley Thomas (Summit, N.J.) generated five goals and two ground balls for the Engineers. Molly Reed tallied two goals, an assist, a groundball, and four draw controls for the Polar Bears.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

homas gave the Engineers a small lead midway through the first. The polar bears ended the shutout thanks to Maddie Mrva netting one with 8:04 left on the board. Junior Julianne Flusche (Ridgewood, N.J.) blasted a decisive goal with one second left on the clock to end the period 4-1.

- The Polar Bears outscored the Engineers during the second and third period 3-1 getting within two to start the fourth. MIT pulled away as f
our different engineers scored six goals to secure the 12-6 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Senior
Meredith Arterburn (Cooksville, Md.) produced two goals, two assists, and three draw controls. Fellow senior Ellie Rabenold (Cincinnati, Ohio) tallied two goals, an assist, and one caused turnover and a draw control while J. Flusche registered two goals and a groundball.
 
- In net, sophomore Molly Dulde (Delafield, Wis.) earned the win facing a total of 18 shots on goals the entire game.
