- The Lead: At the San Diego Crew Classic, the MIT men's lightweight crew team claimed third place in the Men's Collegiate Varsity 8 Active&Fit Now Cal Cup Grand Final on Sunday.

INSIDE THE RACES:

- In Saturday's heat, the Engineers finished first out of four boats with a time of 6:13.971 advancing to Sunday's Grand Final. University of San Diego ranked second (6:21.886), followed by UC Irvine (6:36.710), and Loyola Marymount (6:39.093).

- In the Grand Final, the Engineers powered to a third-place finish out of eight boats as MIT crossed in front of UCLA with a time of 6:09.533. Berkeley won the event in 6:05.246 as UC San Diego was the runner up with a time of 6:06.774.
