The Lead: The MIT men's lightweight Varsity 8+ won The Thomas Loschiavo Trophy for the second year in a row, the Varsity 4+ captured the silver medal, and the Second Varsity 4+ finished fifth in the Grand Final at the Dad Vail Regatta this weekend.
INSIDE THE RACES:
- Battling only Mercyhurst for The Thomas Loschiavo Trophy, MIT's V8+ recorded a decisive 24-second victory as it crossed the finish line in 6:13.366.
- Racing for the James J. Lynch Trophy, V4+ claimed silver in 6:51.593, finishing 11.617 seconds behind winner Mercyhurst and comfortably ahead of third-place Western Ontario.
- In the Grand Final of The Ken Shaw Trophy, the 2V4+ placed fifth with a time of 7:24.392, just 4.477 seconds behind third place West Point. La Salle won the race in 6:59.620, followed by Drexel (7:06.207), West Point (7:19.915), Colgate (7:20.168), MIT, and Georgia Tech (7:24.475).
