Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Four Different Goal Scorers Lead No. 11 Women's Soccer to 4-0 Win Over Trinity

Hartford, Conn. – The No. 11 MIT women's soccer team got goals from four different scorers as the Engineers earned a 4-0 victory over Trinity on the road on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Senior Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) recorded the decisive goal for the Engineers in the first half for her 47th career score. She ranks fourth all-time and is five goals away from tying the program record.
 
Sophomore Arianna Doss (Houston, Texas) recorded a career high three points (1g, 1a), and senior Ashley English (Sheboygan, Wis.) and Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif.) tallied the other MIT goals.  

THE BASICS

- Score: No. 11 MIT 4, Trinity  0

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
 
- Elena Lindonen (Boxford, Mass.) broke past the MIT defense early in the first half with an opportunity to give the Bantams the lead but sophomore Cassidy Jennings (Sioux Falls, S.D.) came out of the goal to make a diving save, and keep the match scoreless.
 
- Doss sent a pass into the box for Rowlett who beat the Trinity defense and tucked her shot into the lower right-hand corner of the goal at 30:22 to give MIT a 1-0 advantage.

- The Engineers doubled their lead when sophomore Madeline Seebeck (San Antonio, Texas) lifted a cross-field pass to the front of the cage for Doss who got her right foot on the ball for the score at 55:44.
 
- Off a rebound of a Luk shot in front, English collected the ball and lifted her shot over the keeper and under the crossbar at 58:24 to make it a 3-0 MIT lead.
 
- A shot from first year Katelyn Charette (Hampton, N.H.) hit the post and went right to senior Sofia Quijada (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) in front of the goal, but Jennings made another diving save to keep Trinity off the board.
 
- A corner kick from Barnouw went through the hands of Trinity keeper Lily Bracken (Dallas, Texas) for the fourth Engineer goal of the game at 83:47.
  
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

- With her first goal of the season Rowlett brings her career point total to 113 to move into fourth all-time. She also scored the game-winning goal against the Bantams in 2022.
 
- Barnouw and English have scored in both games this season.
 
- Jennings made five saves to notch her second win of the season and first career shutout.
 
- Zoe Tamborello (Fairfield, Conn.) and Bracken had four saves each in the match.
 
- MIT has won all four meetings against Trinity.
