CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A 10-0 run during the final two minutes of the second quarter helped MIT pull away and capture a 73-40 victory over Regis College in non-conference women's basketball action on Thursday afternoon. Senior
Angie Choi (Cypress, Calif.) led all players with 22 points, eight rebounds, and three assists as she became the 12
th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points. Junior Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.) powered the Pride with 12 points and six rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- MIT controlled the action in the opening frame as it built a 19-9 advantage which grew to 25-13 following a layup by sophomore Mariam Abdelbarr (Durham, N.C.) at the 6:05 mark of the second quarter.
- Sparked by a three pointer by junior Jordyn Striggles (Raynham, Mass.), Regis mounted a 10-3 run that narrowed the gap to 28-23 after another Striggles trey with 3:42 on the clock. With under two minutes remaining, a pull-up jumper by first-year Deana Prasad (Cary, N.C.) kicked off the Engineers' pivotal run as they entered halftime with a 38-25 cushion.
- MIT controlled the action in the second half as it outscored the Pride, 35-15.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior Kamsi Nwogu (Algonquin, Ill.), who reached 1,000 career points earlier this season, generated 13 points and seven rebounds while junior Alice Hall (Ambler, Pa.) tallied 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks. Senior Sarah Berman (York, Pa.) registered eight points, five rebounds, and two steals as senior Elise Harvey (Wayland, Mass.) bolstered the Engineers' defense with three steals and three blocks.
- Graduate student Courtney Doherty (Willimantic, Conn.) posted 10 points and five rebounds while Striggles finished with eight points and five rebounds.
UP NEXT:
- Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, January 4 with home games at 1:00 PM. MIT will play Colby College in a non-conference match up while Regis will take on GNAC rival Dean College.
