CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 19 WPI picked up an offensive 104-67 NEWMAC win over the MIT men's basketball at Rockwell Cage on Tuesday.
WPI senior Aidan Callahan (Rowley, Mass.) led all scorers with 22 points while junior J.R. Newman (Haverford, Pa.) recorded eight assists and eight rebounds. Junior
Rome Delgado-Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.) paced MIT with 13 points. Senior

Jackson Weiland (Medford, Ore.) all hit double digits for the hosts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a tightly contested opening six minutes, a six point run put the hosts up 15-8 at the 12:48 mark. Lin and sophomore Merlin Gogolin (New York, N.Y.) both hit deep balls for MIT early on.
- WPI retaliated with seven unanswered to knot the game up at 15 all, capped off by a three point play from sophomore Jack Bleier (Victor, N.Y.).
- The lead careened back and forth through 25-25 when the visitors launched an 11-0 barrage late in the half. WPI's margin grew to 15 by the end of the half with the team going into the locker room up 47-32. Callahan scored 14 points for the visitors in the first half.
- WPI ran the lead up to 20 by the 17:22 point of the second half. The offense kicked into high gear with the team extending its margin to 30 at 79-49.
- The visitors hit triple figures with just under two minutes to go on a three pointer from sophomore Nathan Bledsoe (San Antonio, Texas).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Tuesday marked WPI's first 100 point game since November 20, 2021.
- WPI was perfect from the charity stripe, hitting all eight of its attempts.
- WPI went 39-for-73 (53.4%) from the field. MIT was 27-of-60 (45.0%).
- Sophomore Woods Windham (Greer, S.C.) supplied a career-best six points for MIT.
