CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After over a month layoff, the No. 19 MIT squash team returned to action and dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 11 Tufts on Wednesday night at the Zesiger Center squash courts.  

The two teams played four five-set matches. 
 
THE BASICS: 

• Scores: No. 11 Tufts 8, No. 19 MIT 1 
• Records: MIT (6-6), Tufts (5-5) 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Jumbos jumped out to a 2-0 lead with wins in the sixth and second ladder. Junior Hyun Su Price (Philadelphia, Pa.) dropped a tough five-set match in the second position to sophomore Aarav Gill (New Dehli, India). 
• Tufts followed with a 3-0 win in the fourth ladder and freshman Ali Tarek (Cairo, Egypt) earned a 3-2 win over first-year Eddie Xue (Westport, Conn.) in the eighth spot. 
• The visitors secured wins in the first and fifth ladder to take a 6-0 lead and secure the match win. 
• Junior Lars Barkman (Pittsburgh, Pa.) got the Engineers on the board with a 3-2 win in the ninth position. Barkman won the first two sets before sophomore Rohan Bhatia (Potomac, Md.) rallied and won the next two to send the match to a decisive fifth set which Barkman won, 11-9. 
• Tufts won the final two matches for the 8-1 victory. 

UP NEXT: 

• The Engineers return to the courts on Thursday, January 30 for a 2:00 PM match against Williams at the Zesiger Center Courts. Tufts heads to Middlebury for a 1:00 PM match on Saturday, January 25.
