CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Emmanuel College used a 12-4 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 64-56 victory over MIT in a non-conference women's basketball game on Tuesday night in Rockwell Cage.
Riley O'Sullivan powered the Engineers with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks while Tyra Blye had a game-high 24 points to go along with two blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a back-and-forth start, a three pointer by Kendyl Ouimette gave Emmanuel an 18-12 lead at the end of the opening frame.
- MIT stayed close in the second stanza as a free throw from Mary Lobon trimmed the deficit to 24-19 with 3:34 remaining. The Saints used layups by Eliana Jackson and Nylah Mitchell to create some breathing room, however, Lobon countered with two free throws and jumper to once again bring the Engineers within six (28-22). Mitchell and Ouimette replied with back-to-back layups during the final 31 seconds of the quarter, giving the visitors a 10-point advantage at halftime.
- Despite the deficit MIT continued to attack as layups from O'Sullivan and Ruth Lanouette narrowed the gap to 39-33 midway through the third quarter. Emmanuel responded with an 8-2 run, but baskets by O'Sullivan and Brianna Lebrun made the score 47-39 at the end of the period.
- A layup by Blye sparked the Saints' pivotal 12-4 run that spanned the first half of the fourth quarter and created a 59-43 advantage. The Engineers outscored Emmanuel, 13-5, down the stretch with Kaitlin Tam accounting for nine points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Lobon amassed 16 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks while Olivia Joseph posted nine points, five rebounds, and two steals.
- Lebrun and Lanouette both finished with nine points as Lebrun added seven rebounds.
- Mitchell recorded 14 points while Geanna Bryant tallied 12 steals, seven assists, six rebounds, and three blocks.
