CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT men's fencing team defeated Brandeis University (14-13) but lost to Boston College (18-9) and host Harvard University (18-9) at the Beanpot on Thursday night.
Andy Zhang powered the foil team with a 6-3 record,
Rohan Dalal led the sabre squad with a 4-3 total, and
Corey Zhao paced the epee team with a 4-5 ledger.

- The epee team posted a 9-18 record, highlighted by a 5-4 victory against Brandeis.
- Zhao's 4-5 ledger featured a 2-1 showing versus Brandeis.
- Alec Zhang went 3-6 as he had a 2-1 performance against Brandeis.
- Tony Xiao finished at 2-7 as he picked up wins against BC and Brandeis.
HOW IT HAPPENED – FOIL:
- The foil team generated a 12-15 record that featured a 5-4 victory over Brandeis.
- Zhang registered 2-1 marks against all three teams.
- Niles Liu posted a 4-5 total as he had a 2-1 showing versus Brandeis and added a win against BC and Harvard.
- Henry Zhang went 2-7, notching victories versus Brandeis and Harvard.
HOW IT HAPPENED – SABRE:
- The sabre team produced an 11-16 ledger, including 4-5 marks versus Brandeis and Harvard.
- Dalal's 4-3 total featured a 2-1 performance against Harvard and wins against BC and Brandeis.
- Surya Sakhamuri went 4-5 as he had a 2-1 mark versus Brandeis and picked up victories against BC and Harvard.
- Zachary Tong had a 3-6 record by going 1-2 against each team.
- In his only outing of the night, Eric Wang lost both of his bouts versus Harvard.
