No. 5 Women's Swim and Dive Earns 237-60 Win Over Bowdoin

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 5 MIT women's swimming and diving team defeated Bowdoin College 237-60 on Saturday afternoon at the Zesiger Center Pool. 

THE BASICS:    

  • Scores: No. 5 MIT 237, Bowdoin 60 

HOW IT HAPPENED:    

  • 400 Medley Relay: Sydney Smith, Sarah Bernard, Lauren Levy and Ella Roberson took the victory in 3:56.35.  
  • 1000 Free: Mary Feliz and Jessica Crane led the way for the Engineers sweeping the top-two spots. Feliz took first in 10:29.97 followed by Crane in 10:36.77. 
  • 200 Free: Ella Roberson took the top spot in 1:55.79 followed by Daniela Petran, Lillian Poag and Sarah Bernard.  
  • 100 Back: Olivia Chen won the event with a time of 59.35.  
  • 100 Breast: Smith got her first individual win of the meet, taking the top spot in 1:06.88. 
  • 200 Fly: Tiffany Kim took the top spot in 2:08.17, besting teammate Chloe Xu who finished in 2:10.03. 
  • 50 Free: Annika Naveen won the event with a time of 24.25, holding off Ellie Denney of Bowdoin who finished in 24.66. 
  • 1 Meter Diving: Fiora Beratahani won the event with a score of 271.35 followed by Logan Yee in second with a score of 270.53. 
  • 100 Free: Roberson completed the sweep of the free events, winning the event in 52.42. 
  • 200 Back: Crane won the event in 2:08.52 with Feliz in second with a time of 2:09.25. 
  • 200 Breast: Kathy Nie took the top spot in 2:28.22 followed by Kyra Cui in second with a time of 2:31.55  
  • 500 Free: Kim earned her second victory of the day with a time of 5:09.24. Belise Swartwood finished second with a time of 5:10.38. 
  • 100 Fly: Anna Li won in 59.03 
  • 3 Meter Diving: Yee won the event with a score of 284.48. 
  • 200 IM: Crane got her second event win of the day with a time of 2:09.14 
  • 200 Free Relay: Rachel Yang, Smith, Roberson, and Naveen closed the event with a win in 1:35.80.  

UP NEXT:    

  • The Engineers will host their annual MIT Winter Invite from Friday, December 5 – Sunday, December 7 at the Zesiger Center Pool.
