ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The No. 13 MIT squash team continued its strong start to the season with an 8-1 win over No. 18 Western on Saturday afternoon at the University of Rochester. This was the first time in program history that the Engineers have defeated Western Ontario. 
 
THE BASICS:  

• Score: MIT 8, Western 1 
• Records: MIT (4-0), Western (1-1) 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Isaac Torchinsky-Field grabbed a 3-0 win in the sixth ladder over Arin Khot and Ethan Chan earned a sweep in the two ladder. 
• Eddie Xue earned a 3-1 win in the ninth ladder over Eesa Huq. Xue dropped the second set after taking set one, but rebounded to win the next two. 
• In the third ladder, John Gunton toughed out a five-set victory over Josh Kay. After dropping the first set, Gunton won the second, however Kay took the third to take a 2-1 lead. Gunton was able to rally and win the next two for the victory.  
• Mero Elmarassy also grabbed a five-set win in the fourth ladder. He took the first set from William Znidarec, but Znidarec took the next two before Elmarassy rallied to win the final two sets.  
• Sean-Winston Luo, Zachary Starr, Rishabh Sharma all earned 3-0 victories.
