CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 5 MIT women's swimming and diving team hosted four top-25 teams, and eight total, at the three-day 2025 MIT Winter Invitational over the weekend. Out of the 20 events, the Engineers won 12 including all five relay events.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 800 Free Relay: MIT took the win led by Mary Feliz who swam the lead-off leg followed by Belise Swartwood, Sydney Smith, and Ella Roberson. The Engineers finished with a total time of 7:23.52.
- 1650 Free: Jessica Crane led the Engineers with a third-place finish in 17:31.43.
- 200 Free Relay: Kailey Simons, Sydney Smith, Rachel Yang, and Annika Naveen took second in 1:34.38.
- 200 Fly: Feliz won the event in 2:03.38. Swartwood finished second with a time of 2:04.48.
- 200 Free: Roberson, Crane and Smith swept the top spots with Roberson leading the way with a time of 1:50.37
- 100 Breast: Sarah Bernard just beat out Kavita Sekhon of Wellesley by .01 seconds as she finished with a time of 1:02.95.
- 100 Back: Smith took the top spot with a time of 55.68.
- 1-Meter Dive: Fiora Beratahani won the event with a score of 420.50.
- 400 IM: Bernard earned her second win of the event with a time of 4:24.95, beating out Madeleine Dunn of Tufts by almost two seconds.
- 50 Free: Naveen took fourth with a time of 23.91.
- 400 Medley Relay: Smith, Bernard, Feliz, and Naveen won the event in 3:49.40.
- 200 Medley Relay: Olivia Chen, Bernard, Naveen, and Roberson finished first with a time of 1:42.47.
- 500 Free: Feliz took second with a time of 4:53.80.
- 200 Back: Crane finished second with a time of 2:03.42.
- 100 Fly: Swartwood took third in 56.76.
- 3-Meter Diving: Logan Yee took second with a mark of 455.60.
- 200 Breast: Bernard won the event in 2:16.78
- 100 Free: Roberson took the top spot in 50.62.
- 200 IM: Kathy Nie won in 2:05.93.
- 400 Free Relay: Lillian Poag, Feliz, Naveen, and Roberson took the win in 3:25.70, .20 seconds ahead of Tufts.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Feliz's leadoff leg of the 800-Relay (1:49.84) is the fourth-fastest 200 time in program history and currently ranks fifth in Division III. She also had a B Cut in the 200 Fly which was faster than last year's invited time and recorded a B Cut in the 500 Free.
- The 800 Relay currently has the fastest time in the country.
- Roberson, Crane, and Smith all earned B Cuts that were faster than last year's invited time in the 200 Free.
- Bernard swan a B Cut time in the 100 Breast, 400 IM, and 200 Breast.
- Smith earned a B Cut in the 100 Back with a time that was faster than last year's invited time.
- Beratahani earned a regional score on the 1-Meter while Yee earned a regional score on the 3-Meter.
- Both medley relay teams swan B Cut times.
- Crane hit a B Cut in the 200 Back and Bernard tallied one in the 100 Free.
- The 400 Free Relay team recorded a B Cut Time, and ranks in the top-five in DIII.
