CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 5 MIT men's swimming and diving team ended its dual meet season with a 164-121 win over No. 17 Amherst on Saturday afternoon at the Zesiger Center Pool.
Prior to the meet MIT recognized its senior class of: Jacob McCarran (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Roderick Huang (Cupertino, Calif.), and Jalen Evans (Danville, Calif.).

- Score: No. 5 MIT 164, No. 17 Amherst 121
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 200 Medley Relay: Amherst won the event by .05 seconds over the Engineers. Sophomore Aitor Arrese-Igor (Delray Beach, Fla.), junior Thomas Wu (Cedar Park, Texas), first-year Ben Wu (New Canaan, Conn.), and junior Eugene Jiang (Baton Rouge, La.) finished with a time of 1:32.30 while the Mammoth finished at 1:32.25.
- 1000 Free: First-year Kelson Cantrell (Walnut Creek, Calif.) finished second in 9:53.25.
- 200 Free: Graduate student Brian Li (Austin, Texas) took second overall touching the wall in 1:43.82.
- 100 Back: Arrese-Igor won the event in 50.93 followed by first-year Nathan Kim (La Crescenta, Calif.) in second with a time of 51.62.
- 100 Breast: First-year Grant Hu (Allen, Texas) finished third with a time of 58.14.
- 200 Fly: Sophomore Nathan Zhu (Lexington, Ky.) took the win in 1:53.67. Ben Wu clocked in at 1:55.57 for third.
- 50 Free: First-year Aaron Martin (Phoenix, Ariz.) earned the win, clocking in at 21.21. Jiang took second in 21.22.
- 3-Meter Diving: Sophomore Jack Tucker (Naples, Fla.) finished in second with a regional score of 372.60.
- 100 Free: Sophomore Taylor Wagner (Colorado Springs, Colo.) took the top spot in 46.79 followed by Jiang in second with a time of 47.27.
- 200 Back: Kim won the event in 1:56.24 followed by graduate student Aaron Zhu (Chelmsford, Mass.) in second with a time of 2:00.87.
- 200 Breast: Sophomore Jason Wang (Brentwood, Tenn.) won the event in 2:06.19 followed by Huang with a time of 2:06.47.
- 500 Free: Hu won the event in 4:34.01.
- 100 Fly: Nathan Zhu took second in 51.07 followed by junior Zack West (Kailua, Hawaii) in third with a time of 51.40.
- 1-Meter Diving: Tucker claimed the top spot with a score of 394.76.
- 200 IM: Wang notched his second win of the day, clocking in at 1:50.72. Hu took second in 1:53.99
- 400-Free Relay: The Engineers ended the day with a win with Martin, Arrese-Igor, Thomas Wu, and Jiang taking the victory in 3:07.11.

Select individuals will compete at the BU Winter Open which takes place from Friday, February 7-Saturday, February 8. The team will then travel to Worcester, Mass. for the NEWMAC Championships that will take place Thursday, February 20-Sunday February 23.
