No. 19 Squash Defeated by No. 7 Harvard, 8-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 7 Harvard defeated the 19th-ranked MIT squash team, 8-1 at the Murr Center on Tuesday night.  
 
THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Harvard 8, MIT 1 
  • Records: MIT (8-9), Harvard (8-5) 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Harvard dropped just one set in ladders 1-3. 
  • After falling behind 0-2 in the fifth ladder to senior Tate Harms (Wollerau, Switzerland), junior Bobby Albani (Newton Square, Pa.) took sets three and four by scores of 12-10 and 11-7. Harms rallied to take the decisive fifth set, 11-7. 
  • Junior Lars Barkman (Pittsburgh. Pa.) got the Engineers on the board with a 3-0 win in the ninth ladder over senior Zach Baskir (Cape Town, South Africa), 11-1, 12-10, 11-3.  

UP NEXT: 

  • MIT is back in action on Friday, February 21 as the team will head to Middlebury, Vt. to take on the Panthers at 5:00 PM.
