No. 19 Squash Takes Down No. 17 Middlebury, 7-2

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The No. 19 MIT squash team earned a convincing 7-2 road victory over No. 17 Middlebury on Friday night to wrap up the regular season for the Engineers.  
 
THE BASICS: 

  • Score: MIT 7, Middlebury 2 
  • Records: MIT (9-9), Middlebury (9-9) 

HOW IT HAPPENED  

  • MIT swept the top-three spots by 3-1 scores and first year Sean-Winston Luo (Ringoes, N.J.) grabbed a 3-2 win in the fourth position. Sophomore Mero Elmarassy (Santa Clara, Calif.) earned a win in the first ladder with junior Hyun Su Price (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore John Gunton (Lawrenceville, N.J.) taking wins in ladders two and three.  
  • Junior Mitav Nayak (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) earned a 3-1 victory in the sixth ladder and first year Eddie Xue (Westport, Conn.) took a 3-0 victory in the ninth ladder.  
  • Junior Bobby Albani (Newtown Square, Pa.) concluded the day with a 3-2 win in the fifth ladder to seal the 7-2 win for the Engineers.  

UP NEXT: 

  • The Engineers wrapped up their regular season and will now compete at the College Squash Association Team Championships in Philadelphia, Pa. The championships will take place from Friday, February 28 – Sunday, March 2.
