BOSTON, Mass. - The No. 9 MIT men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the Boston Winter Open on Sunday at the FitRec Competition Pool. The team will now prepare for the NEWMAC Championships which will begin on Thursday, February 20. 

THE BASICS:    

• Score: No Team Score 

HOW IT HAPPENED:   

• 100 Fly: First year Louis Avondet (Tokyo, Japan) finished in ninth with a time of 50.62.  
• 400 IM: Junior Alvin Tsai (Mineola, N.Y.) posted a fifth-place finish with a final time of 4:08.17.  
• 200 Free: First year Michael Turmilov (Frisco, Texas) clocked in at 1:46.76.  
• 100 Breast: First year Jack Bolte (Atlanta, Ga.) collected a time of 59.13.  
• 100 Back: Sophomore Jake Geoghegan (Great Falls, Va.) finished seventh with a time of 50.78.  
• 3-Meter Dive: Sophomore Jack Tucker (Naples, Fla.) totaled 153.55 points.  
• 200 Medley Relay: Geoghegan, Bolte, Avondet, and Turmilov finished eighth in 1:35.59. 
• 200 Free Relay: Avondet, Tsai, Bolte and Turmilov finished sixth in 1:28.58. 
• 200 Back: Geoghegan finished in 1:51.43 for sixth place.  
• 100 Free: Tsai completed the event in 47.83 and Turmilov finished in 48.65. 
• 200 Breast: Bolte finished 10th in 2:09.25.  
• 200 Fly: Avondet swam a 1:52.11 time for seventh.

• MIT will gear up for the NEWMAC Championships that will take place Thursday, February 20-Sunday February 23 on the campus of WPI.
