CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT first-year
Eleanor Yang (San Jose, Calif.) captured third place in the smallbore competition at the Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) Championship held in MIT's DuPont Rifle Range on Saturday. As a team, the Engineers finished fourth out of six squads.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mount Aloysius won the team title with a score of 2,233, followed by URI (2,203), Norwich (2,176), MIT (2,174), John Jay (2,073), and SUNY Plattsburgh (1,857).
- Kayla Trinkle (Mount Aloysius) won the individual title with 569 points. Sophia Wood (URI) and Yang both had totals of 561, however, Wood produced two more center targets than Yang, resulting in Yang's third place finish.
- Yang's score was a personal best and this was the second year in a row the Engineers claimed third place as sophomore Phoebe Xu (Fairbanks, Alaska) accomplished this feat.
- Senior Rose Alsalman (Jericho, Palestine) ranked 13th with 547 points while junior Danny Antonelli (Houston, Texas) finished two spots behind her with a total of 540.
- Junior Spruce Campbell (London, United Kingdom) was 19th with a score of 526 as first-year Avaneesh Pal (San Antonio, Texas) ranked 27th with 502 points.
