RALEIGH, N.C. — Senior Walter Truitt (Houston, Texas) took 14th in the 100m Hurdles to lead the MIT men's track & field team on Friday at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University.
THE BASICS:
HOW IT HAPPENED - RUNNING EVENTS:
- 110m Hurdles: Truitt was 14th in 14.31. Junior Enoch Ellis (Garland, Texas) was 21st in 14.58 seconds.
- 100m: Grad student Will Liu (San Marino, Calif.) recorded a new collegiate PR, finishing 47th in 10.89. Liu was one of five MIT runners in the 100m dash. Junior Nolan Clement (Fullerton, Calif.) took 53rd in 10.97, classmate Patrick Haertel (Cumming, Ga.) was 56th in 10.995). Grad student Garrett Whitmore (Webster City, Iowa) was 69th in 11.14, with grad student Mozi Guobadia (Baton Rouge, La.) adding a 73rd place finish in 11.21 seconds.
- 400m: Junior Kristian Praizner (Folsom, Pa.) was 62nd in 49.45 seconds. Sophomore Connor Sterling (New Milford, Conn.) added a time of 51.45 to finish 96th.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED - FIELD EVENTS:
- High Jump: Sophomore Anthony Meng (Scottsdale, Ariz.) tied for 19th, clearing 1.95m (6' 4.75").
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Truitt and Ellis both rank in the top five on the Division III national list in the 110m Hurdles.
- Liu's PR in the 100m is tied for 37th nationally.Â
- Praizner is tied for 33rd nationally in the 400m.Â
- Meng is tied for 13th in the high jump following Friday's competition.Â

- The Raleigh Relays conclude on Saturday, with MIT set to compete in the Hammer and the 200m.Â
