CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The No. 8 MIT men's lightweight crew team earned a pair of runner-up finishes in the varsity eight and varsity fours as the Engineers matched-up with Harvard and Navy on a gusty Saturday morning on the Charles River. 

THE BASICS:

• V4+: 2nd of 2
• V8+: 2nd of 3
• 2V8+: 3rd of 3

RACE BY RACE: 

• V4+: Harvard got the better of MIT in the day's first race. The Crimson finished with a time of 7:27.8. MIT followed in 7:47.9 seconds. 
• V8+: Harvard was the top team in the field, creating distance from the MIT and Navy crews to finish in 6:10.0. MIT pulled ahead of Navy to secure second in 6:17.7. The Midshipmen were third in 6:21.1.
• 2V8+: Harvard completed the sweep in the second varsity race. The Crimson were well out ahead of both Navy and MIT in 6:16.8. Navy was second in 6:29.0 and MIT was third in 6:37.7.
