CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second year in a row, the Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) tabbed the MIT men's fencing team for Coaching Staff of the Year accolades. This is the fourth time the program has been honored.
Led by head coach
Jarek Koniusz and assisted by
David Adler,
Aaron Kogan,
Shang Qiao, and
Tan Trinh, the Engineers produced a 5-1 record in NFC competition. In addition, MIT collected three individual postseason awards from the league. Senior
Patrick Xinyi Liu (Brookline, Mass.) earned a spot on the Epee All-Star First Team, first-year
Rishi Shiv (Houston, Texas) was named to the Epee All-Star Second Team, and first-year
Zachary Tong (Marietta, Ga.) was selected to the Sabre All-Star First Team.
