CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT juniors
Ashley Thomas (Summit, N.J.) and
Gwen Flusche (Ridgewood, N.J.) were selected to the
USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III Women's Lacrosse All-America Team. Thomas was tabbed to the First Team while Flusche earned a spot on the Third Team, marking the second year in a row the Engineers were represented on the list and received multiple honors.
Thomas received her second
USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America nod as she was a Second Team pick last year. This is her third career All-America award as she was tabbed to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America Second Team last season. Thomas currently ranks sixth in the nation in assists (68), ninth in points (119), and 14
th in assists per game (3.24). During the past month, she was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and the IWLCA Berkshire Region First Team.
Flusche collected her first national honor as she finished second in the NEWMAC in groundballs (45) and draw controls (101). In addition, she produced 36 goals and 20 assists, was voted the NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Year, and collected NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and IWLCA Berkshire Region First Team plaudits.
